Ohio CCW Training Class

Two-Day Concealed Carry Weapon Certification Course

Course Overview

Complete your path to obtaining an Ohio concealed carry weapon permit with our comprehensive two-day training program. This 8-hour course (over 2 days) combines essential classroom instruction with practical firearms qualification to prepare you for responsible concealed carry.

Ohio Law Compliance: This training meets the requirements of Ohio Revised Code Section 2923.125 for concealed handgun license eligibility. While Ohio is a permitless carry state (since June 2022), obtaining a CCW license provides reciprocity benefits for travel to other states.

Key Benefits of an Ohio CCW License

  • Reciprocity in Other States: A valid Ohio CHL allows for carrying in many other states that honor Ohio's license, which is crucial for travel.
  • Faster Firearm Purchases: Holders can bypass the FBI NICS background check when purchasing a firearm, as they have already been vetted.
  • Carrying in Restricted Areas: A CHL allows for carrying in certain school safety zones (though not inside school buildings) where non-permit holders might face stricter restrictions.
  • Formal Training and Safety: The process requires 8 hours of training, covering safe handling, proper usage of deadly force, and legal requirements, reducing potential liability.
  • Proof of Background Check: It serves as a recognized, up-to-date document proving the holder is not legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.
